Rebecca Tierney

Rebecca is a senior at Dennis-Yarmouth Regional High School. Her caring nature and concern for others dovetails with her plans to enter a nursing program in the fall. One of Rebecca's teachers notes that she is a tireless worker who is constantly trying to improve her performance in the classroom and on the athletic field. She is successful academically while maintaining a highly rigorous course load. Rebecca's student activities have included being a peer leader, participating in student council, and maintaining membership in the National Society. She is a valued member of the varsity volleyball, basketball, and track teams. She also acts as a volunteer for activities including Relay for Life, the Elementary School Christmas Fair, and Toys for Tots. In her essay Rebecca writes, "Growing up within an enthusiastically Irish family has shaped me into the lady that I am today and the woman that I will be for the rest of my life." In addition, Rebecca adds, "Being able to say that I am Irish is one of the proudest statements I can make."
